ABOUT

Chicago-based artist, Edna Togba is most interested in capturing Black joy and changing landscapes.

She transfers her photographic images to wood by hand. This meditative process allows her to create unique works .

Edna displays these works with plants to evoke a feeling of being rooted and connected to Earth.

Her photography is inspired by bodies of water (from expansive Lake Michigan to tidal inlets that flow into the Chesapeake Bay) and joy as they simultaneously evoke freedom, peace, and lurking fear.
